HOUSTON PUBLIC INTEREST ADVOCATE

There are a set of lawyers who represent the public and ensure that decisions are taken by keeping the interests of the public in mind. These lawyers are termed as public interest advocates.

Recently, a case was taken up by the public interest advocates of Houston regarding the exposure of ozone on the world. Many states came forward to support this topic and help the world against ozone-smog pollution. The standards of ozone level set by the environmentalists proved that the ozone pollution has to be reduced. Several steps have been taken regarding the amount of ozone in the atmosphere that is safe to breathe and how to eliminate the remainder of the ozone.

Apart from this the Houston public interest advocates have taken various steps to protect the environment as Houston is one of the most polluted places in USA. Due to this, the survey shows that the number of people with ailments has increased by a large number when compared with those of the previous years. Apart from the health problems, conservationists are worried about the further damages on conservation efforts and park land due to increase in pollute matter in atmosphere. Also, the major crops of Texas like cotton; soybeans etc are suffering considerable and unaccountable damage.

EPA is expecting public comments on its actions to protect the environment and accept suggestions of all kinds to promote the cause they initiated. A leading nonprofit organization called “Environmental defense”, representing more than 500,000 members, is also involved in such causes and encourage the public interest advocates
